Community Housing Resource, Inc.

Community Housing Resource Inc. (CHR) was formed in 1996 as a private company whose mission is to provide affordable housing opportunities for year-round residents of Cape Cod. We develop and manage rental and ownership housing in Provincetown and Truro, with additional developments underway in Wellfleet.

We work in partnership with many public and private entities to provide and maintain quality homes. Our financial partners include the MA Department of Housing and Community Development, The Life Initiative, MA Affordable Housing Trust Fund, MA Housing Partnership, MA Housing Investment Corporation, Barnstable County HOME Consortium, and local lending institutions.

With the completion of Sally’s Way in Truro, CHR has created 143 year-round homes, 51 art studio workspaces, and 9 commercial spaces. CHR is in the process of developing an additional 32 year-round homes. Upon completion of these developments, CHR will have created 175 homes, of which 69% are affordable. CHR is the largest provider (public, private, non-profit, or government entity) of affordable housing on the Outer Cape.
