About Us

evaplan GmbH at the University Hospital, Heidelberg is a private company that undertakes advisory missions and engages in project implementation, operational research and curriculum development in the field of international health. evaplan emerged in 2004 as the consultancy platform of the Institute of Public Health at the University Hospital, Heidelberg: http://www.klinikum.uni-heidelberg.de/Institute-of-Public-Health.5358.0.html. As such it incorporates more than 25 years of professional working experience from around the world.

evaplan’s business portfolio is largely based upon bi- and multilateral development cooperation, but also includes assignments within the European Union member states in the area of public health, migrant health and medical education. Ultimately its´ mission is to combine academia and practice with the goal of improving public health wherever it works. evaplan constantly strives to deliver high quality results and maintains professional neutrality when serving its clients. evaplan has a broad range of partners such as universities, non-governmental organizations and other consulting firms, spanning both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Furthermore, it is able to draw upon the large international network of academics, policy makers and alumni associated with the University Hospital, Heidelberg.

evaplan provides advisory and implementation services to strengthen health systems in a wide variety of countries. We are engaged in long- and short-term projects with a focus on Sub-Saharan & Northern Africa, the Middle East, Asia, including Central Asia, and Europe. Clients include Aids Fonds, Netherlands, German Development Bank (KfW), European Union (EU), International Labour Organisation (ILO), German International Cooperation (GIZ), The Global Fund to Fight, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), World Bank and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The guiding principles of evaplan’s work include: gender equality, respect for cultural diversity and human rights, ensuring a flexible, participatory approach and close collaboration with local partners. The work that is undertaken is strictly streamlined with the policy framework of partner countries as part of the ongoing international trend to achieve greater harmonization, alignment and ultimately efficiency in the delivery of aid.

evaplan contributes to improving health systems and population access to effective health services in several countries around the world.
