Help Make Tacoma Families Safer: Volunteer at a Sound the Alarm Event (Tacoma, WA)

Every day, home fires threaten lives and devastate communities. You can help make a difference by joining the American Red Cross for a Sound the Alarm event in Tacoma.

Volunteers will install free smoke alarms in local homes, share critical fire safety information with residents, and help families create escape plans. This hands-on volunteer opportunity is a meaningful way to give back, connect with your community, and help save lives through preparedness and prevention.

No prior experience is necessary. Training, materials, and support will be provided on-site.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, August 1

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (or until installations are complete)

Location: Lincoln Park, 801 S 37th St, Tacoma, WA 98418

What You'll Do:

• Install free smoke alarms in local homes
• Share fire safety and preparedness information with residents
• Help families create home fire escape plans
• Work alongside fellow Red Cross volunteers and community partners
