    Description

Yonkers Gun Violence Awareness Day Event (Arts & Advocacy) June 6

    The Vision:

In observance of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, the Joseph Gabriel Foundation (JGF) invites you to a premier Youth Violence Prevention Forum. This is not just a meeting; it is a high-energy, trauma-informed cultural experience designed to engage the next generation of "Change-Makers."

Following a year where 109 lives were lost or forever changed by stray bullet incidents, we are coming together to turn tragedy into collective action. This multimodal event utilizes Fashion, Music, and Art as tools for healing and community resilience.

    What to Expect:

    • The Tribute: A "Wear Orange" memorial and live musical performances.
    • The Forum: A moderated "Voices of Change" panel featuring youth, advocates, mentors, and law enforcement, educators and activist .
    • The Workshops: Interactive sessions including Fashion Design for Advocacy, Conflict De-escalation, and Community Resources.
    • The Reception: A networking hour and student-led performances."

    Why Attend?

Whether you are an educator, a student, a community organizer, or an artist, your presence adds to our collective strength. We are seeking partners to help us merge Aesthetic Excellence with Community Advocacy.
