    Description

Wenatchee Wildfire Preparedness Community Event – Volunteers Needed

Wildfire season moves fast — and preparation saves property and lives. The American Red Cross and Wenatchee Valley Fire Department are teaming up to help local families, in the Number 2 Canyon and Castlerock area, take simple, important steps to get ready before wildfire threatens our community.

We are looking for caring volunteers to join us for this important one‑day service event.

    What Volunteers Will Do

    • Go door‑to‑door sharing simple wildfire safety and preparedness tips
    • Help residents sign up for local emergency alert systems
    • Provide evacuation information and basic defensible‑space guidance
    • Work in pairs or small teams
    • All training and materials are provided

    Volunteer Training (Required)

    March 31, 2026 — 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

This short training will ensure you feel confident, prepared, and ready to support the community safely.

    Who Can Volunteer?

    • Individuals (18+)
    • Teens with an adult
    • Families, service groups, faith groups
    • No prior experience necessary — just a willingness to help

    Why This Matters

These neighborhoods are at high risk for wildfire impact. Your support helps ensure that residents receive critical information before the season begins, potentially saving lives and property.
