    Description

    Alternatives to Violence Workshop

Stop repeating the same cycles. Learn better responses in a 2-day AVP workshop.

Conflict is a natural part of life, but how we handle it makes all the difference.

In this donation-based, two-day workshop, you'll learn practical tools and strategies to navigate disagreements, improve communication, and turn challenges into growth. The workshop will include:

    • Small group reflections on personal experiences with conflict
    • Activities that explore different ways to handle anger, assertiveness and power constructively in your relationships
    • Discussing "red and green messages" - messages that either advance conflict or invite collaboration - and how to use them in active conflict
    • Using the "I message" formula to communicate your feelings and needs without blame

You'll gain a greater understanding of how you relate to conflict, with actionable strategies to employ in future disagreements.

While this is a donation-based workshop, no donation is too small to attend.

    Sliding scale suggested donation: $1-100

The workshop will take place over two days:

    8:30am-5pm on April 25 and April 26

This workshop is hosted by Alternatives to Violence Project - Colorado (AVP-Colorado), a non-profit organization that co-facilitates workshops in nonviolent communication, conflict resolution and more in prisons and communities.

At the heart of AVP’s approach are three progressive workshops, each delivered in intensive 18-22-hour sessions over three days. These workshops use an interactive, experiential format that includes discussions, role plays, and team-building exercises to foster engagement and personal transformation. The Basic Workshop introduces conflict resolution skills, emphasizing nonviolent communication and cooperative problem-solving.
