    Description

    Leave It Better

Join Your Foot, My Foot Foundation and the Sierra Club of Illinois on May 9th!

The "Leave It Better" Initiative is a movement uniting grassroots football energy with environmental advocacy. We’re teaming up to keep our local spaces beautiful and learn how small changes can lead to a big impact.

Whether you're curious about how to properly recycle old athletic uniforms or want to understand the long-term benefits of ditching single-use plastics for reusable water bottles, this is the perfect chance to lend a hand and level up your "green" game.

    When: May 9th | 10am-12pm

Where: Garfield Park | Aurora, IL

What to Wear: For your safety, please wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hat for sun protection.

***Online signups will open on April 10th.***

Garfield Park is located at 817 Forest Ave, Aurora, IL. Our cleanup team will be gathering near the main pavilion, which is easily accessible from the primary parking lot. We will have signage in place to help guide you.

While we will provide all the standard cleanup materials (bags, grabbers, and basic gloves), here are a few things we recommend attendees bring:

    • Closed-Toe Shoes: This is essential for safety, as we will be walking through grassy and potentially uneven terrain.
    • Hat and/or Sunglasses: To protect yourself from the sun during the peak late morning hours.
    • A Reusable Water Bottle: We strongly encourage attendees to bring their own water bottles to stay hydrated. In line with the event's theme, we will not be providing single-use plastic water bottles.

Restrooms: Public restrooms are available near the pavilion for your convenience.

If you have any further questions or need assistance leading up to the event, please feel free to reach out to Maya Neal at Your Foot, My Foot Foundation at maya@yourfootmyfoot.org or by phone at 630-926-4832.
