    Description

Education for displaced orphans and children in Bamenda Cameroon

The Anglophone crisis in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon has seen the burning down of houses, have left thousands dead, crumbled businesses and caused an economic disaster. The future education of the girl child is at risk. It has become harder and harder for all families, most especially low-income families, to have equal access to education. With high unemployment and poverty, people need food and basic household items. They are missing school; some have not gone to school in four years. Many displaced children cannot afford tuition or basic school materials. Through Ndichia Foundation, this project will provide quality education to displaced children and orphans living in Bamenda who have been affected by the Anglophone crisis. The ongoing armed conflict has hindered the registration of children into formal school. This project aims to deliver holistic education to the children who have never been to school and also to school drop outs who are simply victims of the Anglophone crisis that has displaced thousands of people. Basic skills such as reading, writing will ensure a decent life for children who have been orphaned as a result of the ongoing crisis. Children who grow up without attending school are at risk of becoming a “lost generation”. Education is very important in the North West Region of Cameroon that has been affected by violence, conflict and instability. Access to fees, didactic materials to orphans and displaced children in the North West Region of Cameroon, will reduce conflict, restore stability and support reconstruction
