    Description

The Wage & Labor Standards program of the Maryland Department of Labor, Division of Labor & Industry, is hiring enforcement staff to protect the workplace rights of Maryland workers, and build our capacity to serve our State's Spanish-speaking workforce. Each year, our dedicated staff helps hundreds of workers, particularly vulnerable and lower-wage workers, get the pay they earned and the rights to which they are entitled. Enforcement staff ensure compliance with Maryland labor standards laws, including wage and hour laws such as prevailing wage and living wage requirements, as well as workplace fraud (worker misclassification) laws. They conduct field visits, interview workers, employers, and witnesses, review and analyze relevant records, document violations, prepare orders and demand letters, and work closely with program management and attorneys to bring contested matters to hearing.
