The Division of Labor and Industry enforces and promotes workers' rights under State wage and hour laws; ensures occupational safety and health standards in Maryland private and public sector workplaces; protects the public safety through inspection of amusement rides, elevators, boilers and pressure vessels, and railroads; and adopts statewide building codes to provide Marylanders with safely-built structures.
