Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) works in partnership with the community to promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the people and the pets in Marion County. IACS performs, but is not limited to, the following animal control functions: to protect the safety and welfare of people and animals within the community; to educate the public in public safety and humane issues regarding animal care; to enforce city ordinances and state statutes pertaining to animals; to assist the public in resolving animal issues; and to be a strong advocate for the approximately 14,000 animals that come to IACS yearly by way of Enforcement Operations and Kennel Operations.
IACS is located at 2600 S. Harding Street and consists of four dog kennels, three cat rooms, a medical screening area, an animal intake area, a receiving area used primarily by our Animal Control Officers, and a barn area for livestock.
