Congressman Paul Tonko is a progressive democrat representing New York’s Capital Region in Congress. Congressman Tonko serves as Chairman of the Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee, where he crafts legislation to tackle climate change and transition our economy to net-zero carbon emissions no later than 2050. In addition to his work on climate, Congressman Tonko is a champion for addressing our nation’s mental health and substance use challenges, including work on suicide prevention and the opioid epidemic. An engineer by training, Congressman Tonko works in Congress to find creative ways to solve some of America’s most challenging problems.
