Volunteers are an integral part of our organization and have proven to be a valuable asset by increasing police responsiveness, service delivery, and information input. In addition, volunteers bring new skills and expertise to the department and serve as positive police ambassadors within the community.
In 2021, 282 volunteers gave 24,761 hours to the Denver Police Department, totaling $706,692 in added value for the City and County of Denver. Since the beginning of the VIPS Program in 2004, volunteers have given 547,201 hours, totaling an added value of more than $15.6 million.
