The Lincoln Center in Downers Grove fosters a vibrant, inclusive community by providing dynamic spaces, enriching programs, and meaningful opportunities for lifelong learning, cultural engagement, and civic connection. We are dedicated to honoring our local heritage while inspiring growth, creativity, and collaboration for all residents.

    About Us

Originally home to the historic Lincoln School from 1867 to 1974, the Lincoln Community Center now serves as a vibrant hub for education, recreation, and community engagement in the heart of Downers Grove. After being purchased and thoughtfully renovated by the Park District, this six-level, multi-use facility offers a diverse range of programs and services for residents of all ages.

Conveniently located on the south side of Maple Avenue between Washington Street and Main Street, the Lincoln Center is home to the Lincoln Learning Center Preschool, The Link After School Program, and the Adult Center. Its central location and versatile amenities make it an ideal setting for business meetings, seminars, workshops, and social gatherings.

The building features a variety of spaces including meeting rooms, art and ceramic studios, a small gymnasium, classrooms, an auditorium, kitchen facilities, and the District’s registration office. Many of these spaces are available for rental on a seasonal basis, supporting the community’s need for flexible and accessible gathering spaces.
