  • About Us

The Virginia Capacity Building Project is an AmeriCorps VISTA project dedicated to strengthening access to social services across the Commonwealth, with the ultimate goal of combatting poverty and ensuring healthy futures for those we serve. Based out of the Virginia Department of Social Services, we are placing full-time National Service Members with six offices and projects around VDSS. Our team will be addressing a wide variety of topics, including: expanding access to affordable childcare; providing resources to address Substance Use Disorder; pursuing a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive service landscape; furthering the goals of food security and good nutrition for all; and many more.
