Oakland Adopt a Spot

  • Mission

The City of Oakland is committed to the delivery of effective, courteous, and responsive services. Citizens and employees are treated with fairness, dignity, and respect. Civic and employee pride are accomplished through constant pursuit of excellence and a work force that values and reflects the diversity of the Oakland Community.

Oakland is committed to becoming a more sustainable city - a community in which all people have the opportunity to pursue safe, happy, healthy and fulfilling lives, now and into the future.

    About Us

Oakland Adopt a Spot is a volunteer program sponsored by the City of Oakland Public Works Agency.

Our programs are designed to help you and your neighbors play an ongoing role in maintaining and beautifying an area that needs a little extra attention.

Volunteering with the Adopt a Spot program allows you to chose from over 100 parks, creeks, streets medians, storm drains and other public spaces.

Additionally, two citywide cleanups are supported each year: Earth Day Cleanup (3rd Saturday in April), and Creek To Bay Day (3rd Saturday in September).

You can also contact us about organizing a special community cleanup.
