Office of the Attorney General of Texas, Child Support Division

  • Mission

The Child Support Division (CSD) assists parents in obtaining financial support for children. To encourage parental responsibility, the Child Support Division establishes paternity for children, establishes court orders for financial and medical support, and vigorously enforces child support orders. CSD works with public and private entities to promote the involvement of both parents in the life of the child. CSD staff perform their duties in an efficient manner and provide excellent customer service.

    About Us

The Child Support Division of the Office of the Attorney General is the designated state agency to establish paternity and enforce child support obligations.

The Child Support Division protects the rights of children to receive financial support and encourages the involvement of both parents. CSD works vigorously to establish paternity and support orders, enforce these orders, and get child support payments to families quickly.
