  • About Us

The Community Development Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has a broad mission to promote community and economic development in lower-income areas in our nine-state District. Two distinct but complementary teams carry out this mission. The Department's research team works to advance community development policy and practice through analysis of critical issues, promising approaches, and emerging strategies in the field. The field team works to build the capacity of local organizations and foster partnerships among myriad community stakeholders to better address the needs of lower-income neighborhoods and households.
