The Office of Science Policy, Analysis, Communications (OSPAC) within the Office of the Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), is recruiting a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist (Chief, Public Communications Branch). OSPAC serves as the central entity, within the Office of the Director, NICHD for helping to set priorities, and to understand report, translate, and disseminate the important research of the institute. The Office accomplishes this through scientific, program and operational planning, assessing and evaluating research programs, analyzing and reporting on program and research activities, and disseminating research and public health information through creative communication and public outreach efforts. To achieve these goals, the Office works with many different audiences, including (but not limited to) other NIH Institutes, non-governmental organizations, news media representatives, researchers and research institutions, and a range of partners who may use or help to disseminate our scientific information. As Chief of the Communications Branch, you will be responsible for providing vision for and directly managing all communication activities of the Institute, including press, press, web and digital communications, outreach, and programming for public health activities.
