TSA K9 Midway Airport

Chicago, IL

  • Mission

To ensure canines are always prepared for real-time threats, we continuously train and test their abilities. In support of this training, the TSA at Midway International Airport is assisted by volunteer decoys. Volunteers serve as mock traveling passengers and assist in creating training scenarios that most resemble an everyday traveling environment.

    About Us

We are in need of volunteers on Monday, Thursday, and Friday year round. A volunteer can start anywhere between 5:00am - 6:00am and are scheduled for 2-4 hours. I can reuse a volunteer every forty (40) days so an individual can be a decoy multiple times a year for TSA at Midway airport. TSA covers the volunteer’s parking fee at the airport. Many volunteers have expressed that their participation in our K9 training makes them feel they are "giving back," or "contributing" to the safety of air travel. Interested volunteers can email MDW-Decoy@tsa.dhs.gov and provide name, cell number and weekdays available.
