Oakland Unified School District Volunteer Services recruits, facilitates, and engages members of the community to

• Support school staff in creating healthy and productive environments inside and outside the classroom
• Serve as mentors and positive role models
• Encourage schools to create self sustaining volunteer programs

Oakland Unified School District is seeking community members to volunteer in schools as classroom helpers, tutors, mentors, coaches, guest speakers, special event and beautification project assistants.

Volunteers must register through the Family and Community Office of OUSD. The Family and Community Office provides training and assistance with placement at school sites.
