Office of Supervisor Sylvia Arenas, Santa Clara County

Santa Clara County Supervisor Sylvia Arenas has devoted her professional career to public service, with a focus on making it possible for families and children to have a high quality of life within our community. As a member of the San José City Council, Sylvia championed issues that affect the everyday lives of San José women and families. Serving on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors since 2023, she has focused on the needs of children across our county, ensuring that equity informs public investments, and working to create systemic changes that level the playing field in the South Bay.

Sylvia received an M.P.A. from the University of San Francisco, and served as a member of the Evergreen Elementary School District Board of Trustees and the San José City Council, before joining the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors in 2023. Her professional experience includes working in youth and early childhood educational agencies. Sylvia and her family live in Evergreen, San Jose.
