    Are you looking to make a difference and help homeless dogs in our community? The staff and shelter pets at Marion County Dog Services would love to meet you! Whether you want to walk dogs, prefer to assist in the office, or provide temporary care as a foster family, there are a variety of volunteer opportunities from which to choose. It doesn't matter how you give, it only matters that you do! The gift of your time helps us provide a safe haven for dogs in our community!

    About Us

    Marion County Dog Services operates Marion County's dog shelter located in Salem with the mission of serving and protecting dogs and communities throughout Marion County. The staff members are tasked with enforcing Marion County dog licensing and control ordinances; promoting humane treatment of dogs; providing shelter and care for stray dogs until they are reunited with their families or adopted; educating residents on quality dog care; and providing excellent customer service.
