  • Mission

    The mission of the Ontario Promise Corps program is to provide services that contribute to improved educational outcomes for economically disadvantaged children and youth, and to support economically disadvantaged students as they prepare for success in post-secondary educational institutions. The program seeks to achieve this by: (i) improving school readiness, literacy and the social-emotional skills needed to succeed in kindergarten; (ii) providing mentorship to build social-emotional development; and (iii) increasing access to college resources and information.

    About Us

    This position is a grant-funded position. While this position will work alongside the City of Ontario, it is not considered a City of Ontario position. Therefore the successful incumbents will not be considered City employees and are not eligible for any City of Ontario employee benefits. In lieu of City-sponsored benefits, successful incumbents are eligible for a program-funded benefit package that includes healthcare, childcare (space is limited), and mileage reimbursement for the duration of their assignment. An Education Award, (valued up to $10,000) is awarded to those incumbents who successfully complete all required service hours.
