Federal Way Public Schools AmeriCorps

Strengthen the Federal Way community through modeling an ethic of service providing academic tutoring and civic leadership. Federal Way AmeriCorps academic tutoring mission is to increase student's academic achievement in Federal Way Public Schools by offering tutoring and mobilizing a corps of volunteer tutors. Federal Way AmeriCorps civic leadership mission is to foster an ethic of service by implementing community projects that offer students and citizens an opportunity to volunteer.

Provide full-time national service to Federal Way students for 10-1/2 months, beginning September 1 , 2009.

Tutor students in reading and math, develop before and after school programs, and provide community service. Serve in schools. Participate in team-building activities and community service projects. Receive ongoing training.
