    About Us

    Serve Philadelphia is the main initiative of the Mayor's Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service. OCEVS was created in 2010 when Cities of Service, a nonprofit founded by former Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg, and the Rockefeller Foundation awarded Philadelphia a Cities of Service Leadership Grant.

    Serve Philadelphia interacts with 68 city departments, 300 organizations, and 7700 people each year to provide trainings and support community organizing efforts.
