    About Us

Carlsbad Public Library is the only public library covering south Eddy County, New Mexico - an area of 4500 sq miles serving 26,000-80,000 residents. CPL has been proudly bringing education, information, and digital access to the world to our local community since 1897. Our programs are always free and open to everyone. Our children's programs: Preschool Story Time, Toddler Time, LEGO Club, and Mother Goose on the Loose are offered multiple times each week to enhance literacy and parental involvement. Our public computers are available six days a week to anyone who wishes to use them, and we offer wireless internet access throughout the building and park. E-learning resources are available at no cost, 24/7/365, from any internet-capable device so patrons may download ebooks, eaudiobooks, and self-paced classes in multiple languages on a wide variety of subjects. Helpful staff and resourceful librarians are always ready to assist visitors.
