PAVE AmeriCorps

  • Mission

Our mission is to ensure that students are given the tools to succeed personally and academically throughout school; that members of the community are aware of and able to access needed resources; and to increase awareness of needs so that any community in which we are present becomes an overall better place because of our service.

    About Us

PAVE AmeriCorps is a multi-faceted organization. We are the recipient of an AmeriCorps grant which provides tutors and wellness coaches, and we host the formal volunteer program in the Eldon School District.

Tutors: PAVE AmeriCorps Members provide academic interventions to at-risk students in kindergarten through 12th grade and support preschool students to improve school readiness for kindergarten. While tutors are assigned to one campus, they may be engaged in a variety of activities throughout the day by flexing into different classrooms or tutoring in multiple subject areas. Tutors also support interventions that happen during before- and after-school times.

Wellness Coaches: Wellness Coaches support healthy activity and provide nutrition education to kindergarten through eighth grade students in conjunction with the Mustang Wellness Program. Wellness Coaches are busy all day! Before school, they implement physical activities like a walking club. During the regular school day, they support organized recess and P.E. activities, perform "brain breaks," and provide nutritional programming at lunch. After-school, Wellness Coaches support the afterschool intermural sports throughout the year.

Volunteers: Volunteer opportunities are numerous and always changing!
