Stratford-Trumbull-Monroe Medical Reserve Corps

  • Mission

The primary mission of the Stratford-Trumbull-Monroe Medical Reserve Corps is to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies in Stratford, Trumbull, and Monroe, CT.

    About Us

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of volunteers, organized locally, to improve the health and safety of their communities. Our MRC unit, made up of individuals with medical, non-medical, and public health backgrounds, are trained to help with and respond to various community preparedness, emergency response, and public health events such as flu clinics, emergency shelters, mass dispensing of medications, food pantries, and health screenings. In addition to these events, our MRC unit meets quarterly to take part in different training opportunities to learn and improve upon a variety of preparedness or public health skills. Examples of past trainings include Shelter Fundamentals, Pet Shelter Set-up, Narcan Training, Stop the Bleed/Until Help Arrives, Point of Dispensing Drills, Health and Disability 101, and Mental Health First Aid. The MRC works hard to help strengthen public health, improve emergency response capabilities, and build community resiliency. We are always looking for motivated and passionate volunteers to be a part of our unit!
