  • About Us

    Assemblymember Simotas represents the 36th Assembly District in Astoria, Queens. She is the first Greek-American woman elected to office in New York State, and the first woman elected to office from her district. Assemblymember Simotas, who took office on January 1st, 2011, has a long record of public service, having worked at all levels of government and served on the boards of various community organizations. She is a graduate of the New York City public school system, and received her bachelor’s and law degrees from Fordham University.
