    Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) works with all residents to be good stewards of the environment, and to provide safe, welcoming opportunities to play, learn, contemplate, and build community. SPR manages a 6,400-acre park system covering about 12% of the total land area of Seattle and a recreation system that includes programming at 27 community centers, eight indoor swimming pools, two outdoor (summer) swimming pools, four environmental education centers, three teen centers, two small craft centers, an indoor tennis center, an outdoor stadium, over 400 ballfields, and much more.
