The New Mexico Museum of Art is one of several museums within the Department of Cultural Affairs of the State of New Mexico. Built in 1917, it is the oldest art museum in the state. We showcase w orks of art by modern and contemporary artists housed in a masterpiece of Pueblo-Revival architecture. The museum changed its name over the years, as it grew and redefined its mission. The current name, The New Mexico Museum of Art, was adopted in 2007 to reflect the breadth of New Mexico art.
