Project Second Chance - Contra Costa County Library's Adult Literacy Program

Concord, CA | ccclib.org/psc

About Us

Project Second Chance (PSC), the Contra Costa County Library's Adult Literacy Program, offers free, confidential, one-on-one basic literacy instruction to people who read or write at or below the 6th grade level. Students are over 16 years of age, out of high school, and speak English well enough to communicate over the telephone and in person. Tutoring is conducted by trained tutors who meet with their learners twice per week at libraries and other public locations throughout the county, or virtually by computer.

PSC's main office is at a non-library location in Concord, with satellite offices at the Antioch, Brentwood, Hercules, and San Pablo Libraries. We serve learners throughout the Contra Costa County Library system.
