About Us

To protect the best interests of the child and the community, to restore the lives of children who have been neglected or abused, to redirect children who have admitted to or have been found in violation of the law to become law abiding, productive citizens, and to support the continuity of families by leaving children in their homes whenever possible.

The DeKalb County Juvenile Court is located in the Gregory A. Adams Juvenile Justice Center at 4309 Memorial Drive in Decatur. Opened on June 15, 2007, the Juvenile Justice Center is a state of the art, 110,000 square foot court facility. The building is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified .and is the first such government building to open in DeKalb County. In addition to the Juvenile Court, the building houses the Juvenile Divisions of the District Attorney's, Public Defender's offices, and the Child Advocacy Center. Several community partners such as DFACS, CASA and DJJ have office space in the courthouse.
