Bensenville Park District

  • Mission

The mission of Fischer Farm is manifold. The Bensenville Park District aims to enhance their community and its inhabitants' quality of life by preserving our local and natural history and by providing recreational opportunities for all ages. Programs at Fischer Farm aim to promote awareness of the site's historical and ecological significance. The Bensenville Park District in partnership with the DuPage County Forest Preserve work to continuously restore the property and land for the posterity of Bensenville and all future visitors.

    About Us

Established by the Fischer family in 1834, Fischer Farm is believed to be one of the oldest remaining homesteads in the county. This scenic location is prized for its historic structures, original seed beds and rare forest preserve with remnants of prairie, wetland and woodland ecosystems. Today, Fischer Farm is a piece of living history owned and operated by the Bensenville Park District for the education of the general public.
