About Us
The Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library was one of the first libraries in California to offer literacy services as part of the California Literacy Campaign (CLC), sponsored by the California State Library. Since 1984, LAMP (Literacy for All of Monterey Park) has been committed to helping adult learners in the community improve their skills so that they can reach their goals and fulfill their dreams.
LAMP has helped many adults improve their skills and reach their goals:
- to get a job or better job
- to advocate for their children
- to pursue higher education
- to become more active in the community
- to feel more confident in their daily lives
