  • Mission

    A. The mission of the Casper Police Department Victim Service Program is to provide assistance for crime victims through crisis intervention, community referrals, and other support services necessary to expedite recovery and healing. Services are also provided for individuals and families who are survivors of crisis situations where a traumatic event has had an effect on the quality of their lives.

    About Us

The Casper Police Department houses a Victim Services Unit with two full time staff members. We operate a 24 hour Crisis Response Unit that is able to operate with the help of volunteer advocates. Advocates receive 40 hours of victim centered training and respond to a scene with law enforcement when they need assistance with a victim of crime or traumatic event. Advocates provide support for victims or survivors of trauma, safe shelter, emergency services and referrals to community resources. They provide information to full time staff members to help with ongoing support services, shelter, court services and Victim Compensation benefits. Volunteers work one week a month, on an on call basis in the evenings and weekends.
