AmeriCorps VISTA: Utah Refugee VISTA Project
About Us
The Utah Refugee VISTA Project (URVP) aims to uplift refugee community members and support refugee-serving organizations while upholding the four key principles of AmeriCorps VISTA service -- maintaining an anti-poverty focus, engaging in community empowerment, developing sustainable solutions, and serving through a capacity-building lens.
The URVP partners with city, county, and state government agencies, nonprofits, educational institutions, refugee community-based organizations, and mainstream community partners to develop, strengthen, and stabilize programming supporting refugee empowerment at the individual and community levels.
Our VISTA members serve in a range of roles, from volunteer coordination to program development, and from data analysis to media and marketing. VISTA members come from a wide range of educational specializations, professional backgrounds, and lived experiences, and can expect to serve within an engaged and supportive team.
