About Us

Mission: To provide King County (WA) with sustainable, cost effective animal services which protect people and animals, while providing compassionate animal care. RASKC is an open admissions shelter with a save rate above 92%.

Volunteers are given meaningful opportunities to help advance RASKC's mission in Kent, Kirkland, Covington, Tukwila, and in the volunteers' home (foster care). Volunteers have many choices- to walk dogs (adults only); care for cats; prepare cat-food trays; prepare and distribute dog treats; clean litterboxes; wash dishes; do the laundry; vacuum; mop floors; provide customer service; engage in community outreach; help in the Vet Clinic (adults only); take photographs and upload them online; write; edit; schedule other volunteers; work on the volunteer database; engage in leadership duties; and organize events.

RASKC's success depends largely on great teamwork between the professional staff and volunteers.
