    Governor O’Malley’s Intergovernmental Affairs Office (IGA) is the entity within the Governor’s Office that provides a liaison function with local government. It was established to develop and maintain effective communications between local government and the Governor’s Office. The IGA office stays in close contact with Maryland’s 157 mayors and town leaders, 23 county leaders (executives, commissions and councils). The IGA Office also maintains a close relationship with leadership organizations such as the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) and the Maryland Municipal League (MML).
