About Us
Benton Harbor Area Schools is a K-12 public school district located in southwest Michigan. Our current enrollment is approximately 1700 students, including various Pre-K and GSRP programs. Our mission is to provide a quality and equitable education to every BHAS student. We value tradition and pride ourselves on the many accomplishments our district has enjoyed over the past 40 years.
Currently, our district consists of a PreK-Kindergarten Center, two elementary schools (Grades 1-3 and 4-5), a traditional 6-8 middle school, a comprehensive high school and an alternative program. Successful programs include:
- STEM education in elementary
- Robotics
- CTE Courses
- Dual Enrollment
Our goal is to recruit and retain highly qualified candidates who have a love and compassion for inner city/urban settings and who understand issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
