  • Mission

Serve Jersey City aims to increase volunteering opportunities by collaborating with individuals, non-profit organizations, and corporate businesses to participate in meaningful community engagement that helps address Jersey City’s priority concerns through data-driven initiatives.

    About Us

The Office of Community Engagement and Volunteerism (OCEV) in Jersey City is dedicated to fostering civic engagement, empowering residents, and strengthening community bonds through service and collaboration. We connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities to support local initiatives, nonprofits, and city programs that make a lasting impact. Our office serves as a bridge between residents, businesses, and organizations, working to create an inclusive and engaged community where everyone has the opportunity to contribute. Whether through citywide volunteer projects, neighborhood cleanups, mentorship programs, or emergency response efforts, we strive to inspire active participation and collective action for the betterment of Jersey City.

We are also a proud grantee of AmeriCorps! The City receives funding to operate our VISTA program and lead anti-poverty initiatives in various City departments and agencies.
