About Us
The Federal Public Defender Organization for the District of New Mexico (“FPD”) is a federal agency in the Judicial Branch of the U.S. Government. Federal Public Defender organizations were created to safeguard and protect the Right to Counsel in criminal cases established in the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Our mission is to provide high quality, effective, ethical legal representation to the clients assigned to us by the federal courts.
