  • Mission

    The Raleigh Police Department, in cooperation with the City of Raleigh Capital Area Greenway System and the Parks and Recreation Department, has established an exciting volunteer opportunity. Greenway Volunteers are the eyes and ears of the Raleigh Police Department and Parks and Recreation Department. RPD Greenway Volunteers will: • Promote greenway courtesy and safety • Provide information to the public • Assist Greenway Users • Use good judgment and common sense • Watch the Greenway conditions that may be hazardous • Act as the eyes and ears for RPD • Report problems to appropriate management partners Qualifications • 18 years of age • Not convicted of a felony or Class A misdemeanor • Pass a background check • Outgoing, with good communication skills • Willing to donate eight hours a month

    The Greenway Volunteer Program was established in 2012. In that time volunteers have donated over 200,000 hours
