About Us
The MISSION of the RESOURCE CONSERVATION DISTRICT OF THE SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS is to promote land stewardship and resource conservation through ecological research, conservation planning and design, habitat restoration and environmental education, while adhering to the highest standards of transparency and accountability as a public agency. The RCDSMM restores lagoons and oak woodlands, monitors endangered species, provides environmental education to thousands of students each year, helps landowners prepare for wildfires, educates the public and elected officials about environmental issues, creates conservation plans and designs wildlife passages, among many other things. We are dedicated to making the Santa Monica Mountains a thriving place for people and nature.
