  • About Us

The Associated Students of Madison (ASM) is a grassroots organization that works to directly involve and empower all students in making their own lives better by participating in strategic campaigns. Through this work students learn to be effective, engaged citizens who can coordinate and advocate for themselves. ASM serves as the official student shared governance body at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, representing a population of over 43,000 students. Wisconsin statutes empower ASM to review and allocate over $45 million each year and advise the chancellor on decisions and policies concerning student life, services, and interests.
