It is the mission of the Los Angeles Public Library to provide free and easy access to information, ideas, books, and technology that enrich, educate and empower every individual in our city's diverse communities.

Our public libraries seek to engage volunteers' talents, skills, and commitment to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. The library offers a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events, and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
