King Kamehameha Celebration Commission

  • About Us

The King Kamehameha Celebration Commission plans and implements the King Kamehameha Celebration each year in June. In 1997, the state ceased funding the program and salaried positions. Thus, the parade and cultural events are completely dependent on private contributions and public donations. The contributions and donations are mainly from local organizations that have been working with The King Kamehameha Celebration Commission in order to keep the tradition of honoring the life and legacy of King Kamehameha alive and to celebrate the diverse cultures of Polynesia.
