About Us
The Office is one of more than 60 Federal Defender Organizations throughout the United States, which exist by virtue of the Criminal Justice Act, 18 U.S.C. sec. 3006A, as agencies within the judicial branch of the federal government. We are dedicated to providing effective, quality legal representation to indigent persons accused of federal crimes. We zealously represent our clients' interests with courage, devotion, and uncompromised advocacy according to the law and to the utmost of our learning and ability. We are especially proud to represent members of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, Crow Creek Sioux Tribe, Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe, Lower Brule Sioux Tribe, Oglala Sioux Tribe, Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, and Yankton Sioux Tribe.
