  • About Us

About 110 billion pounds of food go to waste each year in the United State while 42 million American struggle with hunger. The Society of St. Andrew helps bridge the gap between hunger and food waste by engaging volunteers to "glean" farmers’ fields after harvest for nutritious produce that would otherwise be plowed under or left to rot and salvaging truckloads of commercially unmarketable produce that then is donated to local food agencies that support our hunger neighbors.

Since 1983, The Society of St. Andrew has rescued and distributed over 775 million pounds of food that otherwise would have gone to waste.
